The London based publisher is said to be recruiting in the north for it’s Manchester version of the Timeout magazine.
After their increasing success with the timeout.com/manchester website and the release of the Manchester Shortlist it’s looking more likely that we’ll see the 2nd edition on our shelves very soon.
Mike Barnett, media and communications manager at the Library Theatre in Manchester said “We as a group of theatre media folk discuss Time Out Manchester’s progress every time we meet. There is in my view, definitely a market for a print/what’s on title.”

I went to see this exhibition at the weekend and I must say I was impressed! A stunning eclectic mix of outfits from her eighties ‘I should be so lucky’ break to the most recent Showgirl tour, many designed by Dolce & Gabbana. Not to mention those famous gold hot pants!
There’s a huge array of photography on show too – every album and single cover shot to date was on show.
Get a little closer to Kylie and go and see the show in Manchester while it’s on until September 2nd. If you can’t make it you can get a taster of the collections online here…

Kylie Fever Arrives At Manchester Art Gallery
Saturday 30 June 2007 - Sunday 2 September 2007
I’m going to have to go and see this while it’s in town… I still have her first video in the loft

The changing image of Kylie Minogue, one of the world’s most popular contemporary style icons, will be the focus of Manchester Art Gallery’s major summer exhibition. Featuring performance costumes, accessories, album covers, photographs, music and video, the exhibition will look at how Kylie, as a performer, has used her wardrobe to create an image that is known worldwide.

The Urbis museum in Manchester is hosting a debate this coming Tuesday (July 17th, 7pm) to discuss the congetion charges that are planned for the city.
Motorists who work in Manchester will face at least two congestion charge zones and pay up to £5 a day.
Backing Greater Manchester’s plans are pubs, clubs and hoteliers, several businesses, environmental groups and voluntary organisations.
But ranged against it are Trafford Centre owners Peel Holdings, several other businesses, the Road Haulage Association and a number of motoring groups.
The event is being organised by the MEN and Channel M.

Johnny Vegas doesn’t so much climb the property ladder as walk under it in this site-specific solo comedy at the Manchester International Festival. Vegas plays Jeffrey Parkin, who’s showing us around his three-bedroom Chorley semi with a view to making a sale. Purr as Parkin flaunts the pan rack, inspired by the Humber Bridge. Coo at his root-wood coffee table. Then blanche as his beer-bellied Sarah Beeny act crumbles, revealing structural flaws in the property-is-God value system. Interiors (co-created with Stewart Lee) is less Location, Location, Location, more Depression, Depression, Depression. Read the rest of this entry »

Yesterday my local river (River Mersey, Northenden Manchester) which I live about 100m from reached the highest level yet after a day’s downpour of rain. The high levels seemed to be attracting the attention of the local police and Environment Agency so I thought I’d get a few shots inbetween showers.
